Methodology: how the 12 companies are scored
The ranking scores every company on eight criteria. The weights were fixed on September 26, 2026, before any company data was collected, and they have not changed since. The first-ranked company is whichever company the arithmetic puts first; no position is set by hand.
Who is eligible
A company enters the pool only if it passes a US presence check: a US headquarters, or a registered US legal entity with US-based delivery staff documented in public (a careers page, an office address on the company site, or location data on a professional network). Companies that do not pass are removed before scoring, and the reason is recorded.
From the companies that pass, the 12 with the most complete public data across the eight criteria are ranked. A company with no public evidence in more than two criteria is left out regardless of its size or name recognition.

Scales
Each criterion is scored at one of five levels. A company receives the highest level whose every condition is backed by a public source with a check date. Intermediate values are not used, so any reader can reproduce a score from the same public pages. A score of 0 means no public evidence was found on the check date; it does not describe the service itself.

Why client reviews carry 15%
Verified reviews on Clutch, G2 and GoodFirms are the only public record written by buyers rather than by the company itself. Volume matters because a rating built on five reviews moves with a single engagement. Where a platform shows reviewer locations, the share of US reviewers is recorded, since this ranking is about delivery to US buyers.
Total score and ties
The total is the sum of each criterion score multiplied by its weight, divided by 100, to one decimal place. It is computed when the site is built and is never typed in by hand. When two companies have the same total, the one with the higher score on the heaviest criterion ranks higher; if that is also equal, the next criterion decides, and so on down the list.

The reasoning behind every score, with the data field and source it rests on, is kept with the data for each company. Sources and check dates are listed on the sources page.
What the method does not measure
The scores describe public evidence. They do not measure the quality of a specific team, the result a buyer will get, or anything a company shares only under NDA. A company that publishes less can deliver well; the ranking can only report what can be checked.
